These guidelines have been written by experts under the direction of the American Academy of Pediatrics (Red Book: Report of the Committee on Infectious Diseases), the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A major change to the third edition of this handbook is inclusion of all current guidelines that pertain to the management of infectious diseases in children.
